Music

Early Beginnings

I began singing at 8 years old. My debut solo was at my parent’s New Years Eve party where I sang Britney Spears “Sometimes” singing along to her cassette tape. My love of Britney quickly faded as soon as I got my hands on Christina Aguilera‘s first album she wrote herself: Stripped. I remember sitting in my room for hours on end memorizing the words to “Beautiful” using a boombox and printed lyrics from my desktop PC. Soon after, I started singing in church at Youth Group worship nights and my mom got me hooked up with singing lessons at The Septein Group where I took music lessons alongside Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. Unlike these two superstars, I was only into singing as most the students in my class acted as well.

Middle School

In middle school, I was in the Varsity and Jazz choirs at Robinson Middle School in Plano where I landed several duets and solos. We sang at many local events and would draw quite the audience at our annual “Pop Show”. I began taking piano lessons after my dad bought me a keyboard. I liked playing songs I was familiar with and learned how to play every major and minor chord. Now, I can read sheet music and play almost any song if the chords are available online.

High School

In high school, I moved to Grapevine where I took lessons with Stefani Little and sang at local shows and events throughout the metroplex, including the Fort Worth Parade of Lights, Art on the Square in Southlake, Christmas in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas, among dozens of other shows. I joined the Grapevine High School Varsity/Acapella choirs where I sang a few solos, competed in region competitions and auditioned for the all state choir.

Auditions

I’ve auditioned for several reality TV shows and local shows, including Star Search, American Idol, The Voice and the Country Music Revue in Arlington.
